A message to the Secretary-General of the United Nations

To the Secretary-General of the United Nations
Respected Antonio Guterres
Greetings:
We send you this message from Syria, specifically from north and east Syria, in which we briefly review the dire humanitarian situation that millions of people in our region suffer from whether its original inhabitants or those coming to our regions from the rest of the Syrian regions fleeing the scourge of war and killing. As you know, we suffer from an unfair siege on our regions before. Several parties practice political blackmail, by wrapping it in a humanitarian framework.
Many UN resolutions have been issued on Syria, about 15 resolutions, including four resolutions related to the humanitarian situation, Resolution 2193 / Resolution 2161 / Resolution 2191 / and Resolution 2258; We trust that the United Nations is a leading institution in providing humanitarian support and looking at the humanitarian reality without fragmentation. Unfortunately, what is happening now, especially with the closure of the Yarubiyah crossing (Tal Koçer) since 2021 through the Russian-Chinese veto, represents injustice against millions of civilians and contradicts all charters. The UN, especially since there are those who work to politicize the humanitarian situation in Syria and do not look at this situation with one view, but do so according to the interests of some.
Mr. Secretary General:
The decision to continue closing the Al-Yarubiyah crossing (Tal Koçer) is unfair and increases the suffering of the region and has direct negative repercussions on the overall situation, not only in our regions, but in Syria as a whole, because we are part of Syria as well. With the continuation of the closure, the economic and humanitarian dependencies increase, and this strengthens the blockade measures imposed on Our people believe that, in light of the conditions that Syria is going through, reconsidering the decision to close the Al-Yarubiyah crossing (Tal Koçer) is an urgent necessity, as it is necessary to read the Syrian reality correctly, especially the human reality that today we suffer from many deep-rooted problems that need to be focused on. In order to overcome them and ensure stability and peace in our country in Syria.
Terrorism, as well as the Syrian political consensus and national dialogue, are important measures in which we must work to achieve positive results in accordance with Resolution 2254, but the existence of a bad humanitarian situation increases the inability to focus towards overcoming these dilemmas that have been mentioned, and therefore we are in dire need today to remedy these obstacles As quickly as possible, as there are displaced persons and refugees in our areas, and also about a million displaced Syrians have arrived to us, as has been indicated, as well as 15 refugee camps. The aid that arrives is imposed by the regime and is exploited, and the region’s dues do not arrive. This suffering increases with the continued closure of the Al-Yarubiyah-Tal Koçer crossing.
In the name of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and in the name of the millions who live in our regions, we raise a request for the humanitarian situation, which includes working to reopen the Al-Yarubiyah crossing (Tal Koçer) and the international contribution to alleviating for Syria, as well as our regions, these difficult economic and humanitarian burdens by separating the humanitarian situation from the political situation Carrying out the necessary international responsibilities in this context, because we are going through a difficult historical stage. The United Nations has a historical role, especially within its humanitarian tasks and responsibilities.
With many thanks and appreciation

Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria
